  2. We need numbers to help us count currency and things like animals or fruits. Without numbers, the world would be in chaos because there will be no currency and people will be quarreling about who owes who what. The first use of numbers, to me, is during Egyptian times, where Egyptian numerals where used for the first time.

I think that the first use of numbers occured when people were trying to communicate amount of an item, but didn't know how to explain, so hence, they created numbers.

  4. We need numbers to count items such as currency etc. without having to bring all of the item you want to count and show them to the person.

I think that the first use of numbers occured when people were trading their items for another person's items, such as 10 sacks of rice for 15 sacks of barly

  6. We need numbers to make our life so much easier esp. when we are counting, buying things, etc, etc. Having numbers (referring to only just the modern Arabic number system) is good also because the people all around the world (everyone) know the same set of numbers so when we have a need like explain to other people (not singaporeans) about some financial crisis or problems which involves numbers, they would know those numbers, not like in the past where different countries have different number systems.
If you are referring to using tally marks to replace numbers in the past, I think that the first use of numbers dates back to around 30000 BC, used by Paleolithic peoples. But if you are referring to the counting system, I think it was actually invented in India, then borrowed and popularised by the Arabs, which we have now, the "Arabic" system.

    2) I think the first use of numbers was when some traders or merchants were trading things or selling their items but they found it quite difficult so that's how they invent numbers.

i think the first use of numbers occur when people are trading in big amounts and need numbers for that use.

I think it started when people found out that they had to compute and record numbers, and memory wasn't enough.

  13. We need numbers as it is very important in our daily lives. For example, if I need to remember that I have 100 photographs, I could just write it down using numbers but if there were no numbers, I cannot remember that at all.
